- be someone to talk to about your thoughts, ideas, feelings, and concerns about your career and study choices, who will help you resolve, organize, and make sense of your thoughts and feelings. 

- help you identify factors influencing your professional development and helps you assess your interests, skills and values. 

- help to identify career resources and sources of information. 

- help you to determine next steps and make a plan to achieve your goals. 

Your Career Consultant MUST NOT: 

- Tell you what to do, or what you should specialize in or what career you should pursue. 

- Advise you in choosing or planning your route.
